What will it cost?

In order for the Parish Council to continue to deliver the services and facilities currently enjoyed by the community, or maybe required in the future, it needs to ask residents to help by contributing more in their council tax.

The Parish Council understand that any increase in household expenditure is unwelcome and can be very difficult for some; but there are council tax reduction schemes available for those who will struggle to pay more.

The council tax you pay is based on the value of your house in 1991. If you have any questions about your banding, please contact the Valuation Office Agency at www.gov.uk/challenge-council-tax-band.

The council tax charge is based on a calculation set by Central Government as a percentage of the Band D. For example, properties in Band H are counted as 2 Band D’s.

The following table shows the council tax you would have paid in 2023/24, according to your Tax Band, for a 4.8% increase in the Precept i.e., each dwelling would have paid £10 or less extra over the course of the year.
