On 5th December 2025 the  Biodiversity Working Group carried out dead hedge construction on Plaistow Green and planting a community orchard along the Dunsfold Road near Durfold Wood. The volunteers were very pleased with their efforts at the end of the morning which provided a useful answer tot he recent gap that had appeared in the hedge around Plaistow Green following a car accident bringing down the exisitng fence. It is hoped the orchard will provide some interest in the spring and summer to the wide verge along the Dunsolfd Road heading out of West Sussex.
